APOGEE

Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 24, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains what information Apogee Athlete LLC ("Apogee," "we," "us") collects when you use the Apogee app and related services (the "Service"), how we use and share it, and the choices you have. It's part of our Terms of Service. Our separate Verification Data & Privacy notice, available in Settings, gives more detail on ID and military verification.

The short version: we collect what we need to run a fair, verified fitness community. We don't sell your personal information, and we don't use it for targeted advertising.

1. Information You Give Us

- ID verification: handled by our identity provider (currently Didit). Your ID images and selfie go directly to the provider; Apogee receives only the result, your confirmed date of birth and sex (when your ID shows it), and the name on your ID (to check the name on your Natural Oath). We ask Didit to delete your ID images and selfie as soon as the result is saved.

- Military PRT/PFT (optional): photos of an official score document, redacted as instructed, and the scores you enter.

- Competition results and weigh-in photos you submit as proof.

2. Information Collected Automatically

3. Permissions You Control

You can change these permissions in your device settings at any time.

4. How We Use Information

5. What Other Users Can See

Anything you make public can be seen, saved, or shared by others, including people outside Apogee.

6. How We Share Information

We don't sell your personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We share it only:

- Supabase: our database, sign-in, and file storage. It holds your account, profile, content, messages, and verification results and documents.

- Didit: ID verification. It receives your ID images and a short selfie video directly from your phone, and sends us only the result, your confirmed date of birth and sex, and the name on your ID. We delete each check at Didit once its result is saved.

- Resend: sends our account emails (sign-up confirmation, password reset, email change). It receives your email address and the email's contents.

- PostHog: product analytics (which features are used and how), linked to your account so we can improve the app. We don't use it for advertising.

- Sentry: crash and error reports (device type, OS and app version, the error, and your user ID) so we can fix bugs.

- Apple: Sign in with Apple (we receive your Apple ID and, if you choose, your name and email or a private relay email), push notifications, and app distribution.

- Google: Sign in with Google (we receive your name, email, and Google account ID), and Google Places to search for gyms and schools (it receives your search text and, if you allow location, your approximate location at that moment).

- Vercel: hosts our websites and staff review tools.

7. Sensitive Information

Some information we handle is sensitive, including your date of birth, sex, government ID verification results, and health-related details like weight. We use it only to provide verification, fair competition, and the features you choose. Depending on where you live, some of this may be "consumer health data"; we collect it only to provide the Service you request and never sell it.

8. How Long We Keep Information

9. Security

We use reasonable safeguards, including encrypted connections, access controls, and private storage for verification documents restricted to our review team. No system is perfectly secure, so we can't guarantee absolute security. Keep your password private and tell us right away if you think your account was compromised.

10. Young Users

Apogee is not for anyone under 14, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you're 14 to 17, you need a parent or guardian's permission to use Apogee. If you're 14 or 15, we ask for their email, send them a page explaining what Apogee is and what we collect, and they approve it there. We keep the parent's email, when they approved, and the version of the page they agreed to, along with basic details of the approval (the device's IP address and browser). Until a parent approves, a 14- or 15-year-old can browse but can't post, comment, message, be found in search, or verify their ID. If you're 16 or 17, there's no approval step in the app. All teen accounts (14 to 17) are private by default, appear only on country and world leaderboards by username only (never on gym or local boards), can message other teens only if they follow each other, can message adults (and be messaged by them) only after a parent or guardian approves that adult, aren't suggested to adults, can take the Natural Oath but are never drug tested while under 18 (from 18 they can be selected like any adult), can boost their profile only to other teens (never to adults; posts can't be boosted), and get no push notifications from 10pm to 7am local time (we store the phone's time zone for this). If we learn that someone under 14 has an account, we'll delete it; if you think one does, tell us at safety@apogeeathlete.com. Parents or guardians can ask questions, review their teen's information, or have the account deleted at privacy@apogeeathlete.com.

To approve who can message a teen, we email the parent or guardian. For 14- and 15-year-olds we use the email from account approval; 16- and 17-year-olds give us a parent's email the first time it's needed, and it counts only after the parent confirms it from a link we email them (it can't be the teen's own email; once confirmed, only support can change it). We keep that email, each request (who asked, their note, when), the parent's decision with the device's IP address and browser, and any report the parent makes. A message waiting for approval is kept until the parent decides, and deleted within 30 days if they don't approve. Parents can see and remove approved people at any time from the link in our emails.

Apogee is operated from the United States and intended for users in the United States. Your information is stored and processed in the United States.
